These detail gouges are a fabulous for getting into places other gouges cannot. The grind is such that very small wings are produced enabling the turner to get in a tight space without damaging the adjoining surface or coming into contact at the bottom of a hollow form or vase.
The diameter of the shank is 10mm  and is compatible with the Simon Hope handle system fitting both the grub screw and quick release handles.
